ANNE HARRISON, head of performance, AEGON Asset Management

Anne Harrison joined AEGON Asset Management midway through 2007 with over 21 years of performance experience. She currently heads up the performance team who provide performance information on a variety of funds including institutional, retail and insured products. Prior to this, she was head of investment statistics at Fidelity International for eight years, running the department in their production of all performance, attribution and risk statistics. She also has 13 years of experience within the service delivery department of the 3rd Party Performance Measurement Company, The WM Company, which is currently part of the State Street group.

 

 

JIM TROTTER,  global deputy head of investment risk & analytical services, Northern Trust

 

Jim Trotter has worked in the performance and risk industry for nearly 20 years and joined Northern Trust in February 2005 to head up the investment risk and analytical services team in London, looking after Northern’s EMEA custody and outsourced client base taking performance measurement, market risk and compliance monitoring services. Jim was promoted to global deputy head in June 2007.

Prior to joining, Jim worked for Investit for two years - a specialist consultancy firm, who work exclusively with the investment management industry. At Investit, Jim was the author of research papers in 2004 on the outsourcing of performance measurement capabilities from asset managers to third party sources and also produced a number of leading performance measurement & risk surveys.

 From 1998 to 2003 Jim worked at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM) in London, ending his tenure there as the head of the performance and portfolio analysis team from 2000 onwards. Prior to joining MLIM, Jim worked for over ten years as a client manager for the WM Company in Edinburgh, looking after client relations with investment manager and pension trustee clients of WM. Jim was also an IMA representative on the NAPF UK Investment Performance Committee (UKIPC) for performance standards and a member of the IMA Investment Performance Working Group until early 2003.

 

NICK ROGERS, senior technical specialist, Mellon Analytical Solutions, BNY Mellon Asset Servicing

Nick has over 20 years experience in the performance industry, having worked at PDFM, Northern Trust previously to BNY Mellon. His areas of specialisation include currency, derivatives, private equity, transition management and fixed income attribution.  In addition, Nick spends over 50 days a year training performance analysts in all aspects of the performance industry, ranging from beginners through to senior specialists. Nick is a member of UKSIP and the Performance/Risk Association.

 

Dr. Stefan Illmer, director and head of client reporting, Credit Suisse - Zürich.

Dr. Illmer is responsible for the performance measurement, the performance attribution and the investment reporting to institutional asset management, private banking as well as global custody clients.

In his former roles he was responsible for investment controlling, performance measurement, performance reporting, risk and return attribution and for the compliance of Credit Suisse Asset Management (Switzerland) with the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS).

He is the chairman of the GIPS Executive Committee, the chairman of the GIPS Regional Investment Performance Committee EMEA (RIPS EMEA, formerly EIPC), represents Europe within the GIPS Executive Committee and is a member of the Experts Group for GIPS of the Swiss Banking Association. Furthermore, together with PriceWaterhouse Coopers, he founded the Swiss Performance Attribution Roundtable and the Swiss Client Reporting Roundtable.
